Invention + Entrepreneurship

This course is created by Professor Steve Mann, inventor, entrepreneur, maker, engineer, scientist, designer/artist, and the founder of the field of Wearable Computing, an industry worth more than $30 billion. You will be taught both the art and science of invention and entrepreneurship by Professor Mann and his team of world-class collaborators, which includes young entrepreneurs who have built technology companies with a combined valuation of over $1 billion.

The main deliverable of this course is a final project in the form of a working prototype and a patent application relating to a new invention in either Wearable Computing, Phenomenal Augmented Reality, or Sensory Augmentation, governed by the principles of Humanistic Intelligence (HI), or human-in-the loop intelligence, which is Professor Mann's guiding philosophy and his answer to the problems posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning.
